UAX12 C Unit The first unit to be installed is the C unit. This is common equipment unit housing the MDF, ringing and tone equipment and line testing equipment. The dimensions being 6’ 10” high, 1’ 8” deep and 1’ 7.5” wide, weighing 300lbs. The lower half contains the MDF, the selector multiple being on protectors, heat coil and test, mounted at the front. The rear had accommodation for six (later eight) twenty pair fuse mountings. The top of the rack housed a test panel (at the front, with a space for a dial speed tester, and a hook for a detector number 4. The rear of the rack has two relay set shelves. The lower shelf accommodating (from left to right) the common multimetering relay set, the tone and time-pulse set, and finally the ringing and meter-pulse set. The fault test number is contained in the tone and time pulse set. The top shelf is spare. A unit B unit D unit |
